The difficulty of the mid length poem

What even is mid-length? To me its any one-two page poem. 

It’s a tough length! 

Most of the time i have some idea for a poem, and it is crystalized immediately in a poem-diamond you can pierce through your ear. It’s a single statement of truth. Its something that I can put into words, and hope makes it to your ear bones, to softly tremble there, and make you feel what I felt in that exact moment. 

If I’m going to fully explain, even in poem form, the process I went through to get there, to formulate that diamond from all the carbon floating through my mind, it would bea small book. Like Dorian Gray length. A novella. A tiny novel of a poem. 

Fitting a thought, an image, and a turn or epiphany into a dozen lines of lightning – it is daunting.
